Paddle Pursuit (Build your dog's water confidence with BOB)

If you’ve got a dog who’s water shy or quietly curious but not quite ready to dive in, this fun dog game is for you. Let’s build your dog’s water confidence step-by-step - with BOB (our famous water toy) as your secret weapon.

HOW TO PLAY

Before you go anywhere near water, you want to get your dog totally obsessed with BOB. BOB’s made for fetching, tugging and floating - so he’s just as fun on dry land. Wiggle BOB around using his bungee handle and encourage your dog to chase, grab and tug. Once your dog is just as game as BOB, you’re ready to dip your paws into Paddle Pursuit.

INTRODUCING WATER TO YOUR DOG

Start at a shallow shoreline or use a paddling pool. Encourage your dog to play and explore near the water. Drag BOB in and out of the water and get him wet. This helps your dog experience the water without needing to jump straight in. Use lots of praise and encouragement for any interaction. Even just moving closer counts. Keep your movements slow and gentle so your dog doesn’t get a surprise splash before they’re ready.

PROGRESSING THE GAME

When your dog’s feeling more confident, gradually encourage your dog to fetch BOB from the water. Start shallow and go at your dog’s pace. Give your dog breaks and throw BOB inland while you wait at the shoreline. This helps build your dog’s confidence and encourages them to run towards the water.

**SAFETY ADVICE** Remember to always ensure your dog stays safe in and around water. Be aware of currents, entry and exit points and use a long line and a life jacket if needed.

Water play builds confidence, burns energy, and strengthens your bond - and BOB makes it loads of fun. So grab yourself a BOB, start slow, go at your dog’s pace…. and celebrate every paddle!
